The National consultation process for WHS (World Humanitarian Summit) 2016 is started with the national level NGOs in Bangladesh. The 1st preparatory meeting is held on May 4, 2015 at the Sahida Quader Auditorium of COAST Principal Office.
Representatives from Society for Social Service (SSS), SKS Foundation, OCHA-UN RC Office, NIRAPAD, Pidim Foundation, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, TMSS, Palli Mangal Karmasuchi, Wave Foundation, BRAC, RDRS and COAST take part in the meeting.
According to the decision of the meeting, an FGD is held in Dhalchar, a very remote and vulnerable island in the Bay of Bengal and right at the estuary of the mighty river Meghna. The FGD finds out the vulnerability and of the community people and limitations of the humanitarian assistance during a disaster.
The 2nd preparatory meeting is also held on the 15 May 2015 at the same venue where the representatives from ASA, FDA, ORA, Sajida Foundation, BDRCS, Grameen Bank, SDI, RIC, DSK, DUS, Prodipan and COAST are present.
