Resilient Young Farmers : The APFP-FO4A Journey Towards Commercialization and Empowerment in Bangladesh

This publication presents the five-year (2021-2025) APFP-FO4A program journey implemented by COAST Foundation and funded by IFAD, and the EU. The regional partner this propram was Asian Farmers Association (AFA). It was started to strengthen farmers’ organizations as viable, market-oriented, and professional institutions in Bangladesh. The program has proved how strategic investment in cooperative governance, enterprise development, specific business plan fiancing, and women and youth leadership translated into measurable gains in productivity, market access, and rural incomes. The program covered 18 districts in Bangladesh. By enabling farmer-led enterprises, climate-resilient practices, and policy engagement, the initiative delivered scalable and cost-effective results for over 12,000 smallholder producers.

This publication invites development partners and donors to invest in expanding proven cooperative farming model that drive inclusive growth, resilience, and sustainable food systems.
