Date: 23.11.13. On the occasion of the World Fisheries Day we have organized Human chain, rally and discussion in three coastal districts and two inland fishing districts of Bangladesh. The name of the coastal districts are Cox’s Bazar, Bhola and Bagerhat. The other two districts are Kishoreganj and Kurigram.
The main focus of the celebration was to raise the demand of ensuring responsive utilization of fisheries resources and implementing the minimum wages for the fish workers. One of the major demand was to ensure proper and adequate services like health, education, home and credit for the fisher communities.
