COAST publishes a research and experience sharing book on the seaweeds as an alternative source of nutrition titled “Potentials of Seaweeds”. A project funded by PKSF (Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation) titled “Finance for Enterprise Development and Employment Creation (FEDEC)” is being implemented by COAST in Teknaf, Ukhia and St. Martin where we are training up a number of seaweed farmer on how to grow seaweeds in a scientific method. Seaweed is not so popular in Bangladesh as a food item but it has a great source of nutrition and herbal medicine. We are also trying to make it popular by promoting it. We published the book to share our success and experience on it.
