30 October 2025, Bhola, COAST Foundation organized a gathering in participation with youth and potential entrepreneur in Bhola, where speakers demand priority inclusion of youth and entrepreneur potentials to reduce poverty with fast track. They also opine that the government must create facilities like Malaysia, South Korea where young educated, and potential entrepreneur can be included to be a developing country as planned.
The event is moderated by Bhola team leader MRs. Rashida Begum where youth and potential entrepreneurs have been participated and shared their experience. Apart different government officials Mr. Tushar Kanti Dey [Youth development Office], Mrs. Aysha Khatun [Upzilla Fishery officer] and Mr. Kamrul Hasan [Upzialla Agriculture officer] have been participated as respective sector guest and spoke. They keynote is presented by Mr. Ayub Ali, COAST Regional Program Coordinator Bhola.
Mr. Ayub Ali said, COAST has been working last 26 years for socio-economic development of coastal poor in twelve coastal districts. COAST ensures it support around 40% entrepreneurial development among 1.83 lac current members. COAST has initiated to identify potential youth entrepreneurs and will ensure necessary support where needed.
In an experience sharing Mr. Osman Gani [agriculture entrepreneur] opine to start and business activity with a small scale at first. I received training on beef processing and got “Halal Certificate” after a long business mover. Now there are 10 local entrepreneurs working with me in Bhola. He demands sufficient loan with flexible condition as a start-up entrepreneurship for youth.
Mrs. Lipi Begum opines that Female could overcome all sort of obstacle if they supported effectively. She shows her experience for a successful goat rearing firm just after receiving one goat from COAST three year ago. Apart, she run a small cottage entrepreneur successfully support from BSCIC.
Mr. Neyamutllah [Dist. Correspondent-Prothom Alo] said that the entrepreneurs of Bhola has made significant progress but should be alert to our disaster risk matters. He opined a good potentiality of local fruits cultivation in Bhola but need an effective support from both government and NGOs.
Mrs. Aysha Khatun advised young and educated should give their focus to be an entrepreneur rather move for so called paid job those are un-sustained. She called the youth to prepare their plan with strategies and government and NGOs will be always with them.
Mr. Tushar kanti Day encourage the youth to start their life with an entrepreneurship and “Youth Development Authority” always with them with necessary support. He appreciated NGOS for coming forward with such financial and technical support those are important at this moment.
Mr. Kumrul Hasan said the success and failure both dependent to you to the youth. Your success will advance the country and failure lost her pathway. He treated Bhola one the best geographical place for agriculture and suggest using all possibilities to make yourself as an entrepreneur with an accurate plan.
