The Sphere Handbook 2018 (https://spherestandards.org/handbook/) is Sphere’s (https://spherestandards.org) flagship publication and one of the world’s most widely recognized references for quality and accountable humanitarian action. It brings together the Humanitarian Charter, Protection Principles, the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), and minimum standards for humanitarian response in four key sectors: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Food Security and Nutrition; Shelter and Settlement; and Health.
Since its establishment in 2012, Sphere Community Bangladesh (SCB) serves as a platform for local, national, and international NGOs and UN agencies. Its mission is to uphold and promote Sphere principles and standards, fostering quality and accountability in humanitarian responses. COAST Foundation (www.coastbd.net) is currently hosting the Secretariat of Sphere Community Bangladesh (SCB). To make these globally recognized standards more accessible to Bangla-speaking humanitarian practitioners, SCB has translated the Sphere Handbook 2018 into Bangla.
